Before you defend Chris Brown, let alone support him, read the police report of what happened between him and Rihanna in 2009.
The whole time I was watching Rihanna perform at the Grammys, all I could think about was how she had to be there in the same room as her abuser. She had to perform on the same stage as him. Chris Brown’s behavior was completely excused in favor of letting him perform at the Grammys, like it was no big deal. But if Rihanna wanted to perform, she had to accept being in proximity to her abuser. Effectively, the awards shows that Rihanna earned the right to be at aren’t even a safe space for her anymore.
When John Waite was in the running for a Grammy nom this year, I was upset because I didn’t want Alison Krauss to have to run into him while accepting an award for an album about how badly he broke her heart. I can only imagine how many thousand times worse it must have been for Rihanna having Chris Brown there.
I am so sick right now.
What a fucking scumbag. Why isn’t he in jail???
I don’t know how anyone can hold a modicum of respect for him after what he did to her. He’s an asshole.
